Mobile device integration

Tablets and smartphones are now seen as an integral part of office-based applications. The ability to integrate these devices seamlessly, regardless of the user’s location, enhances flexible working initiatives and helps to improve business continuity planning. Intelligent routing allows communication from device to device, in a format which adapts to the user’s work style and to the available connectivity. Clearly for some organisations this level of freedom will challenge governance and security policies and, as such, the level and type of interconnection will be restricted. However, for some, these complimentary toll free services allow you to collaborate with third parties on a ‘one to one’ and ‘one to many’ basis, making them ideal for ad hoc yet media rich communication, regardless of your location and device. By embedding communications technology into business applications, you can help to speed up decision-making and so streamline business processes. For example, enabling virtual ‘calling cards’ features within CRM systems and/or database applications can help your employees to access, communicate and collaborate from within that application, without delay and via a single click. Directory integration

As specialised databases, directories are optimised for high volumes of views and searches. At the same time, user policies and privileges and group membership on the corporate network is often contained within the dataset and needs to remain centrally controlled. However, directories should be seen as extendable – meaning that the type of information stored can be modified and enriched to reflect attributes such as relationship to users and available knowledge resources. Today’s UC&C applications provide a method for accessing and potentially modifying this information by the end user.
