Community Involvement and Development

Using the force of our business to make the planet a better place

Get in Touch
With our community involvement and development initiative we are on a journey of bringing people together, investing and delivering in environmental social and community projects for us and our customers. It’s important to us that we work with organisations and charities that are close to our hearts and that can help make a difference to future generations and so we’re proud to present our dedicated partnerships below.

GIRLGUIDES

Girlguiding is a UK charity dedicated to creating a better world for girls and young women. As one of our customers we are supporting their endeavours to empower young girls to build confidence, raise their aspirations and discover their full potential. We are very proud to sponsor the recycling badges for Rainbows, inspiring this next generation to become recycling superheroes and help protect our planet. We’re sharing planet-saving tips about recycling and how best to prevent waste, especially when it comes to tech. And we’re showing how girls and women can use tech to make a positive difference.

CHAPTER ONE

The Chapter One initiative is a unique online programme that matches volunteers from businesses with children (aged 5-7) who need reading practice, particularly in deprived areas to boost children’s enjoyment of reading and spark their excitement about books. Chapter One is free to schools in the first year and harnesses technology through enabling a connection from the volunteer’s workplace or home to the children via the classroom.

STEM Ambassadors

Daisy employees all have skills that are transferrable into the STEM Ambassador Programme and can add great value by bringing real life experience and skills into the classrooms and clubs across the UK.

DCS is proud to support anyone within the business who is keen to influence and inspire those who need it most. Through our STEM Ambassadors Programme, anyone regardless of job role (not just ‘techies’ or ‘engineers’), is given the opportunity to act as role models for children in local communities by volunteering their time and skillsets to their local STEM Hubs and becoming fully-fledged STEM Ambassadors.

Enthuse STEM Partnership image

Enthuse STEM Partnership

Our partnership with Enthuse enables us to help target schools and colleges where our support can have the most impact and where collectively, we will help Enthuse meet its target of reaching 40,000 teachers and 4 million young people over the next five years.

Not only does this impact communities that may otherwise miss out on such a valuable and important resource, it also means that Daisy Corporate Services can play an integral part in building the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) pipeline on both local and national levels. In doing so, we are able to develop and improve employee skill sets through working with young people; develop relationships with potential future employees and apprentices, increase the business’s visibility of as an active STEM employer in the community, and make an important, positive contribution to social mobility.

For Daisy, this means we will develop a greater presence in primary and secondary schools in our communities that need the support and so our focus area centres around our head office in Nelson.

The Big Goal

We’re delighted to be a founding member of The Big Goal. Joining forces with The Street Soccer Foundation to help them in their mission to tackle youth homelessness through the power of football, helping to educate, up-skill and change the lives of young people throughout the UK.

This initiative invites organisations in the IT sector to join forces to support this great cause, and have some fun on the football pitch at the same time. Sponsors take part in a regional 5-a-side football tournament in Spring 2024, with national finals in June. Headed up by our Head of Direct Sales, Tony Wright, who is supporting this project on and off the pitch, three Daisy teams are, “playing for change”, sponsoring 30 young people through the street soccer programme! We invite all of our industry partners and competitors to join us in supporting this great cause.
